Friendly ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you use the Friendly mobile application.

Friendly is a relationship management app, and its core function involves storing information about people in your life — your personal contacts. This may include their name, phone number, email address, and physical address, along with any notes, interactions, or reminders you create. This information is provided directly by you and is used solely to help you maintain and track your personal relationships. It is not shared with the contacts themselves, with other Friendly users, or with any third party.
Friendly includes an in-app direct messaging feature available to mutually connected users. Message content, along with sender and recipient information, is stored securely in Firebase and is used solely to deliver messages between participants. Message content is never read, analyzed, sold, or shared with any third party. Messages are linked to your authenticated user account.
Friendly allows users to create profiles, set usernames, write bios, and send direct messages. This content is stored securely and is only visible to other users as permitted by the app's privacy and connection settings. Users are responsible for the content they submit. We reserve the right to remove content that violates our Terms of Service.
By default, your profile is not discoverable by other Friendly users. You may optionally enable discoverability in your profile settings, which allows other users to find you by username. You can turn this off at any time.
Your personal contact data is primarily stored locally on your device.
The following data is stored in Firebase (Google) as required to provide core app functionality:
Friendly also offers an optional cloud backup feature. If enabled, your local app data — including contacts (with any associated phone numbers, email addresses, and physical addresses), notes, interactions, reminders, and settings — may be securely uploaded to Firebase for backup and restore purposes. Cloud backup is entirely optional and is only performed with your explicit action.
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. Direct message history is retained to provide continuity of your conversations within the app. If you delete your account, your data will be removed from our systems within a reasonable period. Local data stored on your device can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the app.

We do not sell your personal data.
We do not share your personal data with third parties except when required to provide core app functionality such as authentication, messaging, or optional cloud backup.
Any data stored with third-party services is used solely to provide the functionality you request and is not used for advertising or tracking.
Friendly is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data including the right to access, correct, or delete your data. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
